Our story

Hand-packed in Britain since 2009

A baby gift should feel as considered as the occasion it marks. That was the whole idea in 2009, and it is still the only brief we work to.

A woman with blonde hair, seen from behind, folding a white baby onesie at a wooden table surrounded by baby clothes, a teddy bear, and soft baby accessories in a bright, warm room.

How it started

In 2009, Kim went looking for a baby gift she would be proud to hand over. Everything she found was either practical or pretty. Rarely both, and almost never something the parents would want to keep afterwards.

So she made her own. Pieces chosen one at a time, packed by hand, and presented so that opening it was part of the gift. There was very little like it at the time. Kim and Owen built Baby Box Shop around that single idea, and it has not changed since.

A Baby Box Shop gift set being assembled by hand in the UK studio

Made by hand, by us

We are still a family business. Every set is assembled in our UK studio by a team of artisan mums, who fold, layer and check each one before the lid goes on. Nothing leaves the studio that we would not be happy to hand over ourselves.

  • Hand-picked qualityEvery component is chosen and checked by hand before it joins a set.
  • OEKO-TEX certified cottonOur cotton garments and textiles are certified, meaning the fabric has been tested for harmful substances.
  • Tested to UK and EU standardsAll toys and comforters are EN71 tested and certified, the European standard for children’s toys.
